The Glucose Ketone Index (GKI) metric is calculated automatically if you log both a Blood Glucose and BHB Ketone value for the same meal (before or after) or fasting.

GKI is calculated from the molar density of glucose over ketones, using this formula:

Blood glucose (mmol/L) / BHB Ketones (mmol/L)

If you are tracking either glucose or ketones in mg/dL, the app will first convert to mmol/L before calculating your GKI. In this scenario, your GKI will differ from the value you would get from dividing glucose by ketones without converting both to mmol/L.

If you are tracking your ketones with a blood test, follow these steps to select Beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) - Blood Test as your ketones test type. The correct conversion factor will then be applied to your ketones.
