# Log foods by speaking

If you are a [Premium member](/docs/en/subscribe-to-carb-manager-premium) and have the [Carb Manager mobile app](/docs/en/get-the-carb-manager-mobile-app), you can log foods with your voice. Say the food or meal that you want to log, including the portion size, and Carb Manager will search for your food in our databases. If Carb Manager can’t find your food, you can add it.

**Note:** To learn more about Carb Manager’s databases and the sources of food data, see [View sources of food data](/docs/en/view-sources-of-food-data).

## Log multiple foods

This section describes how to use the Multi-Add feature to quickly log more than one food without needing to view or change each food’s details, such as serving size and nutrition information.

1. Select ![](https://cdn.document360.io/39f753db-7167-486f-a297-e9dee7536f7d/Images/Documentation/add.svg) **Add Item** > [Embedded object](https://cdn.document360.io/39f753db-7167-486f-a297-e9dee7536f7d/Images/Documentation/add-food-say-btn.svg) **Say Food**.
2. One-time setup: If your mobile device prompts you to give Carb Manager permission to transcribe your speech, and to access your microphone, select the options to allow permission and access.
3. When the Now Listening screen opens, speak clearly into your device and describe the food or meal that you want to log. For example, you could say, “I ate two scrambled eggs and half of an avocado for breakfast.”
4. On iOS devices, when you’re finished speaking, select **Done Speaking**.
5. In the Confirm your voice log screen, read the transcript to confirm it is accurate. If you need to make changes, tap the description and enter your changes, then select **Submit**.
Carb Manager opens a screen that lists the foods that match your description.**Tip:** If Carb Manager did not find your food, tap **Not seeing your food? Try an extended search** at the bottom of the screen. If Carb Manager still did not find your food, tap **Or create a custom food** at the bottom of the screen, then follow the steps in [Create custom foods](/docs/en/create-custom-foods).
6. In the food selection screen, select **Multi-Add** to turn on the Multi-Add feature.
7. Select the **+ Add button**next to each food in the list that you want to add to the daily log.**Tip:** If the serving size of a food in the list doesn’t match the amount you consumed, add the food as it is now, then once you’re finished adding multiple items, edit the food’s portion size from the daily log, as described in [Edit daily log entries](/docs/edit-daily-log-entries). If you edit the item from the food selection screen while Multi-Add mode is on, Multi-Add mode will turn off. Repeat the previous step to turn on Multi-Add mode again.
8. Optional: If you are [fasting](/docs/en/working-with-fasting) and try to log foods during a fasting window, select **Continue Logging & Keep Fasting** or **Log food & break my fast now**.**Tip:**To change the food's timestamp to a time within your eating window, select **Cancel** to return to the food's detail screen, select **Show Advanced**, and select a different **Date** or **Time**. Then, select **Add** to log the food.
9. Do one of the following steps.
  - If you are done logging foods, select **X** to close the food selection screen.
  - To log more food individually, select **Exit Multi-Add** to turn off the feature, then follow the steps in the [Log one food at a time after viewing or changing its details](/docs/en/log-foods-by-speaking#log-one-food-at-a-time-after-viewing-or-changing-its-details) section.
