# View allulose information in foods

We have been following the research on allulose, and in 2022 we changed the [calculation of net carbs](/v1/docs/track-total-carbs-net-carbs-or-diabetes-carbs) to include subtracting allulose as well as fiber and sugar alcohols from total carbs. Although allulose is included in Carb Manager's list of food nutrients, values are only present if food brands have supplied the information to our data providers. If you find foods without allulose and have nutrition labels showing allulose values, please use the "Help us verify this food" option at the top of the nutrition summary. You can also immediately change your version of the foods using our [Quick Edits feature](/docs/view-and-edit-nutrition-information-in-foods-recipes-and-meals#edit-nutrition-information). When members make custom foods, they should include the amount of allulose used in the food or recipe if they have that information on their food label.

## More about allulose

Allulose does have a non-negligible amount of calories (0.2-0.4 cal / g) but is processed differently than sugar. Unlike sugar alcohols, which have a negligible effect on blood sugar, allulose appears to have no effect on raising blood sugar. Thus allulose is becoming an increasingly popular sweetener in Keto foods.
