# View exercise history and progress

If you [log exercises](/docs/en/log-exercises), you can view a history and statistics for each exercise, which can help you track your progress over time.

## View a record of each time you completed an exercise

Complete these steps to see a history of when you logged a particular exercise.

1. Web app users: Go to the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/39f753db-7167-486f-a297-e9dee7536f7d/Images/Documentation/home.svg) **Daily Log**.
2. Select ![](https://cdn.document360.io/39f753db-7167-486f-a297-e9dee7536f7d/Images/Documentation/add.svg) **Add Item** > [Embedded object](https://cdn.document360.io/39f753db-7167-486f-a297-e9dee7536f7d/Images/Documentation/add-exercise-btn.svg) **Exercise**.**Tip:** You can also go to the Daily Workout section of the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/39f753db-7167-486f-a297-e9dee7536f7d/Images/Documentation/home.svg) **Daily Log** and select the **Add Exercise** button.
3. In the Exercises screen, [find and select an exercise](/docs/en/find-exercises) that you want to view.
4. In the exercise’s detail screen, select the **History**tab.

The History tab lists the total time you completed the exercise throughout the current month. For each workout, Carb Manager displays the date, time, length of exercise, and calories or kilojoules you burned.

**Tip:** To view information for a different month, select the arrows.
5. Optional: To view details about a specific strength exercise, select an exercise entry to view set, weight, and repetition information.

## Track your progress on a completed exercise

Complete these steps to view a chart that shows changes in your averages for a particular exercise over a period of time.

2. Select ![](https://cdn.document360.io/39f753db-7167-486f-a297-e9dee7536f7d/Images/Documentation/add.svg)**Add Item** > [Embedded object](https://cdn.document360.io/39f753db-7167-486f-a297-e9dee7536f7d/Images/Documentation/add-exercise-btn.svg) **Exercise**.**Tip:** You can also go to the Daily Workout section of the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/39f753db-7167-486f-a297-e9dee7536f7d/Images/Documentation/home.svg) **Daily Log** and select the **Add Exercise** button.
3. In the Exercises screen, [find and select an exercise](/docs/en/find-exercises) that you want to view.
4. In the exercise’s detail screen, select the **Progress**tab.

The Progress tab displays a chart to show changes in your averages, month over month, for a period of time. The chart includes a drop-down list of options that you can select to change the information that is displayed in the chart, such as **Total reps** or **Minutes exercised**.
5. To change the information that is displayed in the chart, do the following steps.
  - Select a button for a period of time, such as **3 Mo** (months), to view averages of your logged information during that period.
  - Select a filter from the list.
    - For a cardio exercise, select **Minutes exercised** or **Calories/Kilojoules burned**.
    - For a strength exercise, select **Total weight**, **Average weight / set**, **Total reps**, **Average reps / set**, **Total sets**, **Minutes exercised**, or **Calories/Kilojoules burned**.

## View progress charts of your total exercise minutes and steps

View the total number of minutes that you exercised over a period of time and how your actual exercise compares with your goal. Also view the total number of steps that you logged over a period of time.

1. Go to ![](https://cdn.document360.io/39f753db-7167-486f-a297-e9dee7536f7d/Images/Documentation/goals.svg )**Goals** in the main menu.
2. Select the **Progress** tab.
3. In the Progress tab, select **Change** to view categories of measurements, then select **Lifestyle** > **Exercise Minutes** or **Steps**.
4. Select a button for the period of time that you want to view, such as **3 Mo** (months). If you select **Custom**, a calendar opens where you can select a date range.

The charts show your total exercise or steps over time. When you view Exercise Minutes, the charts show your activity in relation to your exercise goal.

## View insights about your total exercise minutes and steps

If you’re a [Premium member](/docs/en/subscribe-to-carb-manager-premium), you can compare your history of exercise and steps with other Carb Manager data to gain insights about trends and correlations in your activity.

1. Go to ![](https://cdn.document360.io/39f753db-7167-486f-a297-e9dee7536f7d/Images/Documentation/goals.svg )**Goals** in the main menu.
2. Select the **Insights** tab.
3. In the **Insights** tab, select **Change** to view categories of insights, then select **Compare**. Carb Manager displays two charts for which you can view two different measurements.
4. In the list of measurements for the first chart, select **Exercise Minutes** or **Steps**.
5. In the list of measurements for the second chart, select another type of data, such as **Blood Glucose** or **BMI**, for comparison to help you identify trends and correlations.
6. Select a button for the period of time that you want to view, such as **3 Mo** (months). If you select **Custom**, a calendar opens where you can select a date range.
