Carb types include: 

  • Total carbs. All carbs, including fiber and sugar alcohols.
  • Net carbs. Total carbs minus fiber and sugar alcohols. Most low carb and keto dieters track these carbs.
  • Diabetes carbs. Total carbs minus fiber and half of the sugar alcohols. These represents a more precise estimate of carbs that affect glucose and are used primarily by diabetics.
