Track water consumption

Article Summary

Set your water goal, record the number of glasses you drink each day, and then monitor your consumption over time.

Note: Each glass is 8 ounces, or 355 milliliters, by default, but you can change the size of your water glass in App Settings icon App Settings. For information on metric or Imperial settings, see Change units of measurement.

Set your water goal

  1. Go to Settings icon Settings and select Health icon Health in the Goals section.
  2. Under the Core section, set the number of water glasses, and choose whether your goal is to stay above or below that value.

Log your daily water consumption

You can log water consumption in our mobile app, web app, or Apple Watch app.

Log water on the iOS mobile app or web app

  1. Go to the Home icon Daily Log.
  2. Go to the Water section, or select (image of Add button) Add Item(image of Add Water button) Add Water.
    Tip: On a small screen, the Water section appears at the end of the list of daily log entries. On a large screen, the Water section appears on the right side of the screen.
  3. Select a Empty water glass icon water glass to mark it as consumed. Once you reach your set goal, a plus button appears which allows you to add more water glasses.

Log water on an Apple Watch

If you use Carb Manager on an iPhone that is paired with an Apple Watch and you installed Carb Manager on your watch, you can track your water consumption on your watch.

  • In the Carb Manager app on your Apple Watch, swipe to view the Water screen, then tap a water glass for each glass that you consume. Your water consumption is shared between your watch and Carb Manager on your iPhone.

Track your progress

  1. To track the progress toward your goals over time, go to Goals icon Goals in the main menu.
  2. In the Progress tab, select Change to view categories of all goals that are available.
  3. Select Water Consumed from the list of Lifestyle Goals.
