Diet options described in this article:

Ketogenic

  • Macros: 5% carbs, 25% protein, 70% fat.
  • Who is the Keto diet for? This diet is generally for people who are free from any serious medical conditions and who want to lose weight and feel better in general. In addition, for people who have diabetes, who are dealing with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) or inflammation, or who suffer from a health condition that may be improved by a Keto diet, it’s important to discuss Keto with a doctor.

Low Carb High Fat

  • Macros: 12% carbs, 25% protein, 63% fat.
  • Who is the Low Carb High Fat diet for? This diet is generally for people who need a diet that offers similar benefits to the Keto diet, but who need a slower transition to Keto, are sensitive to a high-fat diet, or have a medical reason to not enter ketosis. The Low Carb High Fat diet balances blood sugar and insulin levels, which may be beneficial for people with type 2 diabetes or a BMI over 30.

High-Protein Keto

  • Macros: 5% carbs, 35% protein, 60% fat.
  • Who is the Custom diet for? This diet is generally for people who are free from any serious medical conditions, who need a diet that offers similar benefits to the standard Keto diet, and who need extra protein to help build muscle mass, such as bodybuilders and older people. People who suffer from medical conditions, particularly liver or kidney disease, should consult a doctor before starting a high-protein diet.

No-Carb / Carnivore

  • Macros: 0% carbs, 25% protein, 75% fat.
  • Who is the Custom diet for? This diet is generally for people who are free from any serious medical conditions, particularly liver or kidney disease, and need a diet that offers similar benefits to the Keto diet. There is anecdotal evidence that suggests a No-Carb / Carnivore diet may serve as a short-term food elimination diet, help people temporarily lose weight, or relieve inflammatory or emotional conditions, but at the time this article was published there isn’t enough scientific research about this diet to know the potential benefits or consequences that people may experience. People should consult a doctor before starting a No-Carb / Carnivore diet.

Low Carb Moderate Fat

  • Macros: 20% carbs, 40% protein, 40% fat.
  • Who is the Low Carb Moderate Fat diet for? This diet is generally for people who need a slower transition to Keto, are sensitive to a high fat diet, or have a medical reason to not enter ketosis. This diet offers some of the overall health benefits of low carb. The diet balances blood sugar and insulin levels, which may be beneficial for people with type 2 diabetes.

  • Who is the Moderate Carb & Fat diet for? This diet is generally for people who want to continue to eat a fairly standard diet but experience the benefits of reduced carbs. Even Split

  • Macros: 33% carbs, 33% protein, 33% fat.
  • Who is the Even Split diet for? This diet is generally for people who want to track carbs. This diet has a small impact on balancing blood sugar and insulin levels. People on this diet can still eat many high carb foods such as pasta and bread. 

Zone

  • Macros: 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat.
  • Who is the Zone diet for? This diet is generally for people who are trying to reduce inflammation in their body as a primary health goal and who want a less-restrictive diet. This diet can help people lose weight and burn fat.

  • Who is the High Protein diet for? This diet is generally for people who are trying to build muscle. This diet is highly efficient for building muscle and body mass while reducing body fat.

High Carb Low Fat

  • Macros: 50% carbs, 15% protein, 35% fat.
  • Who is the High Carb Low Fat diet for? This diet is generally for people with specific medical conditions that can benefit from a high carb diet, such as specific types of thyroid or adrenal issues. Consult your physician for advice. People on this diet can still eat bread and pasta, and sugar isn't heavily restricted. To lose weight while on this diet, people must restrict calories.

Custom

  • Who is the Custom diet for? This diet is generally for Carb Manager users who want very specific macro ratios.
