You can measure ketone levels by a urine test, blood test, or breath test. Select your usual testing method to receive the most accurate data when you log ketone readings.

  1. Go to Settings icon Settings.
  2. In My Settings, select App Settings icon App Settings.
  3. In the Units section, select Ketones Measured and choose one of the following options.
    • Urine Test (AcAc)
    • Blood Test (BHB)
Tip: When Premium members log Ketone and Blood Glucose measurements, Carb Manager will automatically calculate the Glucose Ketone Index, which provides insight into your overall metabolic health and level of ketosis. Select Blood Test (BHB) as your ketone testing method, then log Beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) Ketone and Blood Glucose measurements for the same meal. For details, see Calculate the Glucose Ketone Index.
    • Breath Test (BrAc)
    • BIOSENSE® Breath Test
Tip: If you have a BIOSENSE® breath ketone monitor and a Premium subscription, Carb Manager can automatically import your ketone readings. For details, see Sync BIOSENSE breath ketones with Carb Manager.
Tip: If you have the Keto Mojo® app, you can automatically add blood glucose and ketone measurements to Carb Manager. For details, see Sync Keto Mojo blood glucose and ketones with Carb Manager.
